As others have noted, while it can do the more obvious, in-your-face effects as well as most others, where it really shines is the subtle stuff, where you might not even guess the vocal had a doubler on it until you bypass it and it suddenly sounds smaller and thinner. I'm going to have to fight the temptation to use it on everything (though come to think of it, the Beatles didn't fight that temptation, so who am I to say they were wrong? ) A wonderful, game-changing plugin for me.*However, doing an A/B test of ProVocative and Micro Shift on the same track just now, I uncovered a bug in the former: in bypass, it screws with the stereo balance of the track. I had Micro Shift after ProVocative in the plugin chain and when I bypassed ProVocative, suddenly the left channel was much louder than the right, even before I took Micro Shift out of bypass. This makes three plugins in a row from Boz that have had bugs in my DAW: T-Bone (crashes), Gatey Watey (intermittent function) and now this. So I'm off Boz for good. Stability is not optional.
